Provide education and training for all ages. Integrate culture, wellness, and life skills. Support community members in employment and further education. Oversee community-based research.
Current Programs
We are proud to partner with Northlands College to bring the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Year 1 program directly to our community.
This program provides learners with foundational knowledge and practical skills to support the growth and development of young children in culturally respectful and nurturing environments.
By offering this training locally, we are creating meaningful opportunities for community members to begin careers in early learning while staying connected to their families, culture, and community.
We are proud to partner with Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies to deliver a 12-week Mining Industry Pre-Employment Program in our community.
This program is designed to prepare participants with the essential skills, safety certifications, and industry knowledge needed to pursue careers in the mining sector.
Through hands-on training and guided learning, participants gain the confidence and experience required to transition into the workforce while remaining rooted in their community.

Kineepik supports preparation for and participation in CNSC engagement. We help break down technical information and support Pinehouse during meetings and follow-up.

Kiskemisowin Project
In December, Kineepik signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with Pewaseskwan, an Indigenous-led research team at the University of Saskatchewan.
This MOU is part of Kiskemisowin – a partnership between Pewaseskwan and our education department to build a community-owned and designed digital archive. In a nutshell, this project sets up whatever is needed for us to store knowledge in a way that is secure and accessible to the community. We in KML are in charge of what knowledge we store, who can access it, how it is stored, how it is used and more. The research team is involved to help develop the archive and understand how it can be done well. They want to answer questions like “How can this be done well?”, “What kind of systems work best for communities to control?”, “How can Universities best support this work?”. They do not have access to the knowledge we hold.

The MOU is a way to start our partnership in mutual understanding. In it, Pewaseskwan commits to honouring our control and ownership of our knowledge, bringing training and other resources into Pinehouse, to communicate clearly about what they are doing, and to give community input before any research is published in the outside world. It also outlines the project’s goals and the things we will do to reach them. The MOU is a living document, and the team will consider adding any ideas that community brings back to make a stronger relationship.
